BiographyJenna Rose Geiser (she/they) was born in New York, partially raised in Florida, then returned to New York where she developed a love/hate relationship with snow. She developed a passion for exploring mental health issues in her work after her being diagnosed as an adult, and has comfort in studying yoga, learning to voice act, and baking indulgent amounts of homemade sweets to share with others. Her eventual identification as an Asexual/Panromantic Demi-lady led her to discover new communities that have let her feel seen and valid for the first time.
Once college and graduate school were out of the way, Jenna decided to get to know herself better by pursuing a less-structured life. She took jobs as everything from a tax preparer to a farmer’s market manager to photography company temp. And she supplemented her income by also being a freelance writer, yoga teacher, and online user-experience tester. Between jobs, she watches a delightful amount of animation and has been overjoyed to see the increase in representation of queer stories and voices, especially in children’s shows, though more efforts at inclusivity are definitely needed and welcome. Jenna grew up obsessed with books and dove head-first into an English BA and MA. She let her devotion to writing flourish once she was free from the oppression of maintaining a GPA. Her ‘eureka’ moment was when she realized that combining her love for animation and her love for telling stories would lead to an ideal career. She enjoys comedy/fantasy scripts with heart and humor that feature dark twists and openly queer characters. She also writes horror novels for middle grade audiences. Jenna’s simultaneous passion for voice over has also led her to a dedicated pursuit of roles in animation, video games, podcasts, and more. Jenna has attended numerous panels, classes, and retreats focused on writing and voice acting. Every experience helps her improve her skills so she can share her stories with others in the best ways possible.
Among her many hobbies, Jenna’s favorite is dressing up in colorful homemade costumes to attend fan conventions. She has spent many an hour disguised as magical horse, a rebellious princess, and an oddly-colorful spaceship. And she once sang onstage as a queer female war general. She is eager for all the new story ideas she’ll discover as life goes on, and is excited to share all the stories she’s already developed. |
